November 2005
Its now November 2005!
I have just "hopefully" had the last stage of my treatment. I had a scar revision done to my neck. It was just on one side because in my first initial operation it healed a little thicker than I would have liked it too. (It was no fault of the surgeon, he was busy concentrating on saving my life at the time!)
Was still very anxious having it done because there is always that "what if?" "will it look the same?", or "something could go wrong and it looks worse."
As I came round from the operation I felt almost as poorly as the first operation I don't think we anticipated how big of an operation it actually was. I had a drain fitted to keep infections at bay and they aren't my most favourite of things. (painful removal)
Stitches are now out and the scar is much thinner, I am so pleased with the finished result. The scar is still big and is still visible but makes me feel more comfortable about myself which is what I was aiming for.
